Kayleigh Hammond of Zeeland West has signed a letter intent to play basketball at Cornerstone University

Kayleigh Hammond of Zeeland West has signed a letter intent to play basketball at Cornerstone University beginning the 2009-2010 season.  Hammond is a 5-11 senior who averaged 7.3ppg, 8.5 rpg and 2.6 blocks per game as a junior.  She was named All-Conference honorable mention, Holland Sentinel All-Area 2nd team and Advance All Area honorable mention.  Shooting 55% from the floor she was second on the team in scoring and led the team in rebounds and blocks.  In addition, Hammond holds the school record for blocks in a season.  Kaleigh is a National Honor Society Member, maintains a 3.8 G.P.A and is ranked in the top 20 in her class of 197. 

"We are thrilled that Kaleigh chose Cornerstone," smiles Coach Fles.  "It's great to have a player like Kaleigh to build our recruiting base around.  She has a great personality and fits in very well with our team.  She is a hard worker and I think she has only scratched the surface in what she is capable of doing on the court."
